Legendary Bollywood music director Raam Laxman, who gave music for more than 200 films across the languages, breathed his last on Saturday due to a heart attack in Maharashtra's Nagpur.

Media reports claimed that he had been ill for a long time. He received the vaccination dose for Covid a few days back and fell ill. He has been undergoing treatment and breathed his last in the middle of the treatment.

Raam Laxman's original name was Vijay Patil and started his Music Career working for Marathi films. Later he started to work for Bollywood films.

Raam Laxman was the music composer duo. While Vijay is Laxman of the duo, and his partner Surendra is Raam. The duo worked for several films together and their last film was Agent Vinod. Even after his partner's demise, he is working in the name of Raam Laxman to honour his friend.

Raam Laxman rose to fame with Salman Khan starrer Maine Pyar Kiya in 1999. Later he joined hands with Rajshri Productions and worked for films like Maine Pyar Kiya (1989), Hum Aapke Hain Koun..! (1994), Hum Saath Saath Hain (1999).

Celebrated singer Lata Mangeshkar condoled the death of the legendary music composer. In a tweet made in Hindi, she said, she was sad after hearing the sad news of his demise.

"Mujhe abhi pata chala ki bahut guni aur lokpriya sangeetkar Ram Laxman ji (Vijay Patil) ji ka swargwas hua. Ye sunke mujhe bahut dukh hua. Wo bahut acche insaan the.Maine unke kai gaane gaaye jo bahut lokpriya hue. Main unko vinamra shraddhanjali arpan karti hun," Lataji tweeted.
