South Indian Actresses began speaking about sexual harassment they faced in the Film Industry. Now, Lekha Washington of 'Vedam' fame shares her experience.
Lekha Washington: 'A Tamil Director who offered me a role in his movie kept asking me what would he get in return. Though I am aware of his intention, I replied - May be a good actor. But, He kept asking me for sexual favors and finally I said, 'You know, I am not going to sleep with you''.
Still, The Director tried his best to convince Lekha but failed in the end. That's how Lekha missed the film offer and she isn't complaining as its better than facing continuous harassment on the sets.
Lekha shares the same Director died of cardiac arrest due to overdose of Viagra when he went for the film shoot in a foreign country with the lead heroine. 'That's perfect…It's karma and hence it happened that way!,' she says.
