Star Maa TV Sacks 80 Employees!

Layoffs have become a worrying phenomenon these days. We have been reading the reports of leading corporate companies in the IT sector are planning mass layoffs this year. Not just IT sector but other sectors also witnessing this trend.. and there are various reasons which lead to layoffs. When the management changes, their business ideologies and approaches change.
Maa TV was one of the top channels in Telugu and Star group has acquired it few months ago and it is known as Star Maa now. According to the recent reports Star Maa, said to have served pink slips to 80 employees. These employees have 7-8 years experience on an average and they were serving in various designations.
Some of the employees who predicted the mass layoff when Star group had acquired Maa, said to have already left the company much earlier. The reports further say that there was a clause about the transition period where Star group should not sack existing employees for a certain period. As the transition period is over, the management reportedly took the decision to fire them.
Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu is the major show telecasted in Star Maa.. but the TRPs were disappointing. Meanwhile, the channel is getting ready for the reality show Bigg Boss.
