When you talk about any biopic in Indian Cinema, one has to worry if they are going to be presented well enough. But in the hands of Naga Ashwin, the story of Savitri, legendary South Indian actress is safe and secure as per the sources. The director has made an impressive debut with Yevade Subramanyam starring Nani and Vijay Devarakonda. Now, the director chose to tell the story of Savitri and for that he met her son and daughter, Vijaya Chamundeshwari to know the details.
As many know about her film career and not many know about her early life and also some details regarding her decisions she later took in her life. So, the director has done a great research to bring all that glamour and glitz to life on screen. He took lot of time to prepare the script and then convince the actors to he a part of it. Keerthy Suresh is doing the role of Savitri.
The movie shoot has been finished at Antharvedi and now, the unit has shifted to Palakollu. The movie team has constructed some sets to represent pre 1950's era and then the movie shoot will shift to Chennai and Hyderabad it seems. Dulquer Salmaan, 100 days of love, Bangalore Days and Ok Bangaram fame is playing the role of Gemini Ganeshan. For other roles Shalini Pandey, Prakash Raj are selected. Samantha will be seen as a journalist of that period and she will be the narrator of the story.
