It is quite common that our filmmakers depend on spoofs and mimicking popular on-screen characters for generating comedy. But sometimes those attempts might backfire as well. It is to be remembered that 30 years Prudhvi landed into controversy last year when he imitated Balayya in a couple of films. The issue was closed when Prudhvi apologised Balayaya fans.
Coming to the present, comedian turned hero Sunil tried to generate comedy by imitating Mahesh Babu's infamous 'Ants in the pants' step from 'Brahmotsavam'. It is known that Sunil latest film 'Ungarala Rambabu' released recently and turned out to be a disaster. There is a scene in the film where Sunil imitated songs of top stars while he was cooking in the kitchen. When he was mixing dough with water he imitated Chiranjeevi song from 'Indra'.. when he was lifting heavy gunny bags he imitated Sivudu song from 'Baahubali'. SImilarly, He imitated Balatripuramani song from 'Brahmotsavam' while he cleans oil which was spilled on him. It is known that the anti-fans trolled Mahesh at the time of 'Brahmotsavam' calling it 'Ants in the pants' step.
Mahesh Babu fans who watched Sunil film were upset with the scene. The movie became a disaster otherwise, this Sunil must have faced the heat from Mahesh Babu fans.
