Mahesh Babu Doing It For The Second Time For Rajamouli?
By: Tupaki Desk | 30 Sep 2021 10:18 AM GMTBack in 2015, superstar Mahesh Babu showed he is a class act by postponing the release of Srimanthudu after knowing Baahubali 1 was lining up for early July release. Srimanthudu, which was also announced for release in July was then postponed to August upon request from the makers of Baahubali. Mahesh readily obliged to the same and approved the postponement of the release. This decision was taken in the wake of the scale and magnanimity of Baahubali. It was essential that Baahubali 1, the pride of Telugu cinema was given a free run at the box office. What followed later is history. Baahubli 1 turned out to be a magnanimous success and the film's blockbuster success elevated Tollywood's image. Incidentally, Mahesh also scored a blockbuster with Srimanthudu, and the film established a non-Baahubali record at the box office.
Now, a similar scenario might be repeating itself again as Mahesh might have to opt out of the Sankranthi race for Rajamouli's RRR. Apparently, the makers of RRR are contemplating the idea of releasing the film on the 12th of January next year, marking the occasion of Sankranthi. They had already approached the makers of another pan-India film, Radhe Shyam to postpone the release but the makers of the Prabhas starrer rejected the advancements and stuck to 14th January release slot. So, the makers of RRR requested the makers of Mahesh Babu's Sarkaru Vaari Paata to alter their release plans.
Sarkaru Vaari Paata is announced for release on the 13th of January and if RRR is to take up the 12th January slot, it needs a free run at least through the weekend and if that is to happen, Sarkaru Vaari Paata will have to vacate its release slot. The makers of Sarkaru Vaari Paata are yet to react to the request from the makers of RRR. Now, it remains to be seen if Mahesh will be altering the release plan of his film for the second time for Rajamouli.
Needless to say, Mahesh will be working with Rajamouli for one of his upcoming projects. This much anctipated project is likely to hit the floors once Mahesh is done with SSMB28, a Trivikram directorial.
