Mainstream Media has given ample coverage to the Hyderabad GST Commissionerate freezing two bank accounts of Mahesh Babu for evading Service Tax for the Assessment Year 2007-08. The Actor was supposed to pay Rs 18.5 lakh as tax almost a decade ago for the money he earned through endorsements. And now, Interest and Penalty took the total due amount to Rs 73.5 lakh.
Mahesh Fans were shell shocked with the reports aired by Electronic Media and news published in the Print Media since Yesterday. They expected the Ghattamaneni Family to issue a clarification over what has happened but nothing happened so far.
As per reliable sources, Mahesh Family wasn't even in India since the past couple of days. After taking part in the Christmas celebrations in Hyderabad, Mahesh Babu, Namrata, Gautam and Sitara went to Dubai for spending some quality time.
Better if Mahesh Babu issues a statement to the press or tweets about it instead of making Fans wait for his return to Hyderabad. Let's see how he would handle the Tax Evasion charge..!
