Maharshi's Return Of Investment Doubtful
By: Tupaki Desk | 2 April 2019 5:41 AM GMTSuper Star Mahesh Babu is currently busy working on his milestone project Maharshi. Since it is a milestone project, the entire team of Maharshi taking utmost care in making sure that Mahesh will have a memorable experience working on the project. The director is taking extra care in the making while the producers are ready to shed out money to not compromise in the quality. But, deep down, there is a feeling for everyone that Maharshi might end up as a costly failure.
Vamsi Paidipally directed the films Munna, Brundavanam, and Oopiri so far. Though his last film Oopiri is declared a hit by the critics and audiences, the movie ended up as a costly failure with producer losing money. Vamsi makes sure that his films come out with excellent quality and it requires the producers to put more money from their pockets.
As per the reports from a trade, the film's theatrical rights were sold at 90 crores, and 40 crores of this are non-theatrical rights which include dubbing, satellite and audio rights. The makers are expecting 18 crores business in Nizam and 15 crores in Ceded. They are hoping to get 12 crores from the Overseas, but the deal is still on, as the producers wanted 18 crores.
The buzz states that the film was shot in 150 days with a budget of 100 crores. The trade is expressing doubts on the return of investment as Mahesh's last film Bharat Ane Nenu collected 36 crores in AP with average talk. The film was sold for 14 crores in Ceded, but it only collected ten crores in the region. The producers already quoted heavy prices for all areas but the film will be a profitable venture for distributors only if the movie collects a share of 100 crores.
As of now, there is no clarity on the film's pre-release business which might arrive by the time the film is ready to hit the screens.
Starring Pooja Hegde and Allari Naresh in the principal roles, Maharshi is jointly produced by Dil Raju, PVP, and Ashwini Dutt.
