Is Mahesh still waiting for a Mani film?

Mahesh Babu who is busy wrapping up his bilingual in the direction of A.R.Murugadoss, SPYder, revealed to a Tamil magazine that he was supposed to act with Tamil Ilayathalapathy, Vijay in the direction of Mani Ratnam. He said it was his childhood dream to act in the legendary director's film and thought his dream has come true when the maker called him for a photoshoot in Chennai.
He revealed that the maker asked him to fly down to Chennai for a photoshoot with Vijay for the film based on Ponniyin Selvan. He was excited waiting for his call but the film did not happen after two weeks. The actor explained that if he any director looks to make a film with him and Vijay in the vast then the story should be good and fitting as well.
He also revealed that he was approached for Kathithi remake but the actor wanted Murugadoss to direct the movie as he doesn't prefer to star in remakes. The movie then was selected by Megastar Chiranjeevi for his comeback and it became a huge success. Mahesh said he is excited about his new movie, SPYder and also shared that Murugadoss narrated him the story for more than an hour during his Srimanthudu shooting schedule. Well, Mahesh sounded optimistic about a Mani film and hoped that would happen someday.
