Majili To Become The Benchmark For Future Films

If the Window Period between the theatrical release of the film and its release on digital websites is 30 days, then most of the audience are preferring to watch the films online rather than going to the theatres which became a disadvantage for the distributors.
On this note, the Producers Council took a decision that the movie should not be available to stream on digital websites within 2 months of the release. The rule will be applicable for all the movies that got released after April 1st. The first movie that got released after this is Samantha and Naga Chaitanya starrer 'Majili' movie on April 5, 2019. The movie also showed the Prime Video logo during the titles. So, the digital rights of the movie were bought by Amazon Prime video. Based on the rule, 'Majili' movie is much likely to become available on the digital streaming websites from June 4th.
