'Major' Scores Big With 35.6 Cr Gross Worldwide!

Handsome and talented hero Adivi Sesh's recent release 'Major' had a positive buzz right from the very beginning and people were highly impressed by its teaser. The movie opened to packed houses in the Telugu states and it is getting good reception in other languages too. The producers have officially released a poster announcing that 'Major' earned a gross of 35.6 crores worldwide in three days. This is a huge number for Adivi Sesh considering the budget of 'Major'. The film earned a gross of over 13 crores on its first day and the collections were steady throughout the weekend.
The film crossed the breakeven mark long back and it is in profits right now according to the trade reports. By the end of its theatrical run, 'Major' is sure to give a lot of profits to everyone associated. Also, 'Major' earned $269,526 through its premieres from 289 locations. Sesh's highest previously was a mere $61k for 'Evaru'. Mahesh Babu's brand value in the overseas market and the positive word of mouth benefitted the film heavily. Looks like 'Major' is going to leave everyone in smiles with its box office performance.
'Major' is directed by Sashi Kiran Tikka who made 'Goodachari' earlier with Sesh. Abburi Ravi has penned the dialogues while Adivi Sesh himself provided the screenplay. Maratha beauty Saiee Manjrekar will be seen as the hero's romantic interest in 'Major'. Telugu girl Sobitha Dhulipala played a key role in this film. This pan-Indian project is produced jointly by Sony Pictures India, A+S Movies and GMB Entertainments jointly.
Veterans like Prakash Raj, Murali Sharma, Revathi and others are also a part of this film. 'Major' is based on the life of Sandeep Unnikrishnan who sacrificed his life during the '26/11' attacks in Mumbai back in 2008. The multilingual film 'Major' traces the journey of Major Sandeep from childhood, teenage, and glorious years in the army to the tragic events of the Mumbai attack where he was martyred, touching upon the different aspects of his being.
