Consumer drags Superstar to Court

Malayalam superstar Mammootty landed in trouble for endorsing a soap manufactured by the cosmetic company Indulekha. In the Ad featuring the Star Hero, The company promotes the soap as a best product for beautification (skin-whitening).

K Chaathu, a resident of Mananthavady in Kerala, has sued Mammootty and the soap manufacturer as he felt cheated after using the product. "I used the soap but couldn't find the desired result of beautification as claimed by Mammootty in the TV Commercial," he alleges.

The Petitioner demands 50,000 and other expenses from Indulekha as compensation. Subsequently, The Consumer Court issued summons to the soap manufactures and Mammootty to appear before it on September 22nd.
