Debuted into the industry as the daughter of veteran actor Mohan Babu, Manchu Lakshmi got recognition as an anchor and an actress. She has always been selective about the movies she does. Recently the actress is going to play the lead in 'Wife of Ram' movie. Debutant director Vijay Yelakanti is helming this project and Manchu Lakshmi is playing the role of a housewife in this movie.

Manchu Lakshmi is going to find the mystery behind it and is playing a de-glamorous role in this film which is why she is not going to wear makeup. This Manchu daughter is saying that this is the toughest character she has ever played. She added that she and director Vijay worked very hard to make the script flawless.
Actor Priyadarshi is also playing a vital role in this film. Manchu Lakshmi collaborated with Vishwa Prasad and is bankrolling this project. She is stating that as 'Wife of Ram' movie gave her a challenging role, she is not only acting but also producing the film. In the past, she did a de-glamorous role in Gundello Godari movie which became a disaster at the box office.
