2016 was a forgettable professional year for Manchu Manoj. 'Shourya'.. 'Attack' turned out to be duds at the box office. Comparatively Manoj disappointed with Shourya result rather than 'Attack' result. Because Manoj tried something different unlike his usual style. He expected Shourya would become a hit so that he can continue such experiments in future.
Manoj had a bad experience regarding Shaurya in Overseas. Premier shows had to be cancelled in America as audience didn't turn for the premier shows. Manoj didn't expect such a response for his film after the hit of 'Current Teega'. Coming to the present, Manoj expected a better response for his latest film 'Gunturodu' in the Overseas... as the film has positive buzz. But there is no change in situation.
The movie collected little more than $ 1,000 from the premiers, giving a shock to Manoj. Greatest surprise is that Raj Tarun film 'Kittu Unnadu Jagratha' collected more than $ 7,000.. Vijay Devarakonda's 'Dwaraka' collected $ 11,000. Getting less collections than Raj Tarun & Vijay Devarakonda films is literally a crude shock for manoj.
