The director is planning to do the film for a long time but it has been experiencing constant delays. Finally, the director arrested his focus on to this project which features the talented actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Vikram, Aishwarya Rai, Vijay Sethupathi, Jayam Ravi, Anushka and Keerthi Suresh in key roles.
According to the reports from Kollywood film industry, Mani Ratnam prepared a legthy story for the movie. The director found a scope to tell a long story to the audiences and wanted to bring it to the screens in two parts. The director is said to have felt that the essence of the plot will go missing if it was narrated hurriedly in a single part. Hence, he came to a conclusion to film the project in two parts just like Baahubali.
Mani Ratnam has collaborated with Reliance Entertainments to produce this much-awaited project. AR Rahman is on board to score the music for the movie.
