Normally, Mani Ratnam films take time to complete the shooting and release after being in the news for few days.
Whatever might be his film's box office status many filmmakers take him as their Guru and try to deliver a film like he does with more commercial elements.
While Ram Gopal Varma, who started at the same time has completely lost his respect and name, Mani Ratnam still commands to be taken seriously and even made box office success like Ok Bangaram.
His recent Cheliyaa bombed but his touch is still there to see. He needs a very good script and he decided to come up with an anthology film, Chekka Chevantha Vanam in Tamil.
It is titled as Nawab in Telugu and stars Simbu, Jyothika, Aravind Swami, Vijay Sethupathi, Aditi Rao Hydari. The movie started shoot in February and it is now ready to release on 28th September, it seems.
Lyca Productions is producing the movie with Mani Ratnam's Madras Talkies and AR Rahman scored the music for the film.
