Mani Sharma Admits to Copying Tunes
By: Tupaki Desk | 14 Oct 2018 1:05 PM GMTMani Sharma in a recent interview stated that no music director wants to copy on their own but when producers and directors ask them to, they do it due to lack of choice.
He also agreed that in his career he did copy and remix few tunes. He gave an example of Chiki Chiki Bum Bum from Adhi movie.
He said, "For Adhi, I was asked to follow an English song and that became Chiki Chiki Bum Bum. Producers and directors ask for certain style but some force that they want exactly the same.
So, we even though want to give our own music, we fail to successfully please or argue with them at times. But that doesn't mean that we only do copy tunes and nothing more."
He spoke this way as SS Thaman emotionally reacted to trolls of him being called a copy music director. Mani Sharma used to bring in new sounds and sometimes follow popular songs and give his own instrumentation to them.
Well, he now admitted that he did do that and it seems quite common too. So, targeting just one person seems to be a little unfair.
