Marina Puratchi: A Jallikattu Backdrop Film

Whenever there is a burning issue in the society and if it becomes a hot topic in the media our filmmakers will surely grab the opportunity to make a movie on that subject. Whether common people are concerned with it or not... writers and directors will write a one or two line story on the issue so that they can use it if required. Similarly, Tamil filmmakers are getting ready to make a movie in the backdrop of Jallikattu.
It is known that Jallikattu issue has rocked entire Tamil Nadu for nearly a year after the Court banned the traditional sport Jallikattu citing animal cruelty as the reason. Entire Tamil Nadu unitedly protested against the court order. Their protest at the famous Marina beach in Chennai grabbed the attention of the national media as well. Tamil film fraternity and politicians openly supported the Jallikattu. Considering the sentiments of Tamil Nadu people, the ban was lifted.
Director MS Raj has prepared a story in the backdrop of pro-Jallikattu agitations. The makers have finalised 'Marina Puratchi' title for the film and they are busy with the shooting now. Hero Sivakarthikeyan recently posted the first look of the film and tweeted that "Pasanga productions @pandiraj_dir sir presents #MarinaPuratchi ..Reliving the historic moment..Best Wishes to the full team..Trailer soon". The details of the lead cast & crew were kept under wraps till now and it will be revealed by the makers soon.
