The Chennai Magistrate Court had refused to grant a bail to Meera Mithun and her friend Sam Abhishek, who were arrested recently in connection with the objectionable comments row.
It is said that Meera Mithun who moved the Court to seek bail in this regard had reportedly said that she will accept the conditions put by the court to get the bail and cited the reason for her work.She said, she is a part of a few films and her being in the jail would lead to the delay in the shoots.
However, the Court made it clear that she can't be given bail in the case. The petition filed by her friend Sam Abhishek was also refused by the Court.
Meera Mithun has hit the headlines with her derogatory remarks against a particular community. She alleged that people from certain communities indulge in illegal activities and crimes.
She made these derogatory remarks during a talk show. Adding further, the actress said that the directors from the specific community should be sent from the industry.
Taking a severe objection to her comments, Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) leader Vanni Arasu had filed a complaint against her. Other organisations have also filed complaints resulting in the actress facing a bunch of complaints.
Members of the particular communities have also fired at the actor and sought strict action against her for allegedly making derogatory remarks.
As a bid to escape the arrest, the actress and her friend fled to Kerala and hid there. Based on credible information, the Tamil Nadu Police arrested the duo in Kerala.
Upon arresting them, the cops produced them before a court and they were sent to the Puzhal jail. They were arrested on Saturday.
It has been widely reported that Meera Mithun allegedly created a scene when the Tamil Nadu Police arrested her.
