The First Rs 100 crore Film in Mollywood!

Mohanlal starrer 'Pulimurugan' emerged as the first Malayalam film to gross Rs 100 crore at the Box Office. This feat was achieved within 34 days of its release. 'I am happy to share with you all that Pulimurugan becomes the first Malayalam movie to enter 100 crore club,' confirms the Superstar.
Actually, The total production cost of 'Pulimurugan' stood at Rs 25 crore. Which means, It collected three times more than the investment so far.
Vysakh wielded the megaphone. Music is by Gopi Sunder. Visuals Effects in 'Pulimurugan' garnered good response. Action Sequences choreographed by Peter Heins were highly appreciated. Mohanlal performed all the stunts without using any dupes, including that with a Tiger.
'Drushyam' which also stars Mohanlal in the lead role is the previous highest grosser in Mollywood. This thriller managed to reach the Rs 75 crore-mark.
Mohan Lal had two Rs 100 crore-plus grossing films in a span of two months. His other flick 'Janatha Garage' collected over Rs 135 crore.
