Sridevi MOM Review

How many Heroes & Heroines will be able to do 300 Films in their film careers? In Tollywood, No other Hero except Superstar Krishna has achieved such a feat. That's why, Sridevi deserves all the praise for completing landmark 300th flick. Will 'MOM' remain as a memorable film in the career of our Evergreen Beauty?
Plot:
School Teacher Devki Sabharwal (Sridevi) lives in Delhi with her Businessman Husband and Teenage Daughter. Devki's Daughter gets abducted on Valentine's Day and gang-raped by four people. Crime Branch cop Francis (Akshaye Khanna) was assigned the job to send the accused behind the bars. Despite recorded statement of the victim, The Fast-Track Court acquits the culprits citing lack of necessary circumstantial evidence. Devki loses the faith she had in the police and judiciary with this verdict. A private detective (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) offers help to Devki who is in distress. She decides to take law into her hands for punishing the men who sexually assaulted her Daughter.
Performances:
Sridevi delivered a top-class performance. 'MOM' wouldn't have been so intriguing if not for her splendid performance. Even the Pak Teen who played Sridevi's Daughter has done a marvelous job.
As expected, Conversations between Sridevi & Nawazuddin makes the audience crave for more. Nawaz just breathes life into his character.
Not to forget Akshay Khanna who makes the movie buffs wonder why doesn't Directors cast this great performer very often.
Technicalities:
AR Rahman's Compositions are simply brilliant. Anay Goswamy's Camera Work is praise worthy. Editing could have been more crispy. Easily 15 minutes should have been chopped off. Boney Kapoor has certainly didn't compromise on Production Values. Debutante Director Ravi Udyawar extracted the best from Cast & Crew. He made 'MOM' look different from other rape-revenge drama flicks.
Bottom Line: Overall, 'MOM' is about the transformation of a School Teacher into someone who breaks the Law. Audience who love watching brilliant performances & thrillers willn't be disappointed at all!
