More Flops Than Hits For Deverakonda!

Young sensation Vijay Deverakonda arrived with 'Liger' this weekend. The film was released amidst huge hype and expectations. Being a Puri Jagannadh film, many expected this pan-Indian film to work wonders at the box office. As it is known, Puri Jagannadh either delivers blockbusters or disasters. Looks like 'Liger' is going to fall under the second category.
The film has reportedly failed to live up to the expectations. The response from the audience as well as the critics was quite disappointing. Vijay fans are quite disheartened with the result and they are looking at the reasons for its failure. While the lackluster screenplay and routine story proved to be the biggest minuses, Vijay's script selection should also be blamed.
Vijay is known for picking up different subjects right from the beginning but all of them weren't successful. While feel-good love story like 'Pelli Choopulu', family entertainer 'Geetha Govindham' and intense love story 'Arjun Reddy' worked well at the box office. Some of his movies like 'Dwaraka', 'Dear Comrade', 'World Famous Lover' and others failed badly. None of these films failed to impress the fans and 'Liger' may also end up in this list. The young hero is having more flops under his belt than hits which is quite concerning.
He currently has 'Jana Gana Mana' with Puri once again, 'Khushi' with Shiva Nirvana and a project with Sukumar which may not start anytime soon. We need to see what happens with these movies now.
