More Troubles for Tandav, BJP MP wants ban on web series

Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan found himself in the middle of the controversy with his new web series âTandavâ. Several netizens and groups have slammed the web series and raised many objections to the way the political drama projects Hindu beliefs.
Making the scenario even worse, BJP MP Manoj Kotak opposed the web series and even requested the Information and Broadcasting Ministry to ban the web series.
The MP took to the Microblogging site Twitter to share his displeasure on the political drama and requested Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar to take the required actions to ban the series.
In the tweet, Manoj Kotak has claimed that the web series mocks the Hindu gods and contains content that is anti-Hindu.
âOTT Platforms having absolute freedom from censorship has led to repeated attacks on Hindu sentiments which I strongly condemn.spoke to hon.@PrakashJavdekar ji & requested that OTT content be regulated in the interest of integrity of India & we are fast moving in that direction.â
Netizens are not happy with the Saif Ali Khan starrer web series. A particular scene where Lord Shiva was reportedly portrayed in a big light did not go well with them. Hashtag Boycott Tandav has been trending on social media.
The Amazon Originals Tandav was helmed by Ali Abbas Zafar, while Himanshu Kishan Mehra bankrolled the project. The web series has an ensemble cast like Saif Ali Khan, Dimple Kapadia, Sunil Grover, Tigmanshu Dhulia, Dino Morea, Kumud Mishra, Gauahar Khan, and others.
