Will OTT Platforms Become The New Theatres!

Going by the present conditions, we may get to see films getting released on Prime Video or Netflix or other streaming services. It is because 30% of people have understood that you don't need to go to movies in theatres. Barring a few larger than life movies, it is time to release the rest of the films in OTT platforms.
If it continues, the collections of small & medium films will not be allowed and there is a big chance of Hollywood style getting popular in India where OTT platforms rule the film industry. Sources say that they may release 2-3 films at the same time on streaming sites and create an online competition through which they walk away with profits. Already the OTT platforms started this for small films. We hear films like 'Palasa', 'Hit' and others were watched more in Prime rather than when they were in theatres.
Even production houses are advertising that their film is being streamed in a particular platform which increases the brand value of OTT applications. It is high time that the entire industry keeps aside its egos and give more importance to quality content. Only then, our industry and theatres may survive.
