TS: Movie Tickets Are Costing A Bomb!
By: Tupaki Desk | 31 Dec 2021 11:24 AM GMTThe Movie Tickets issue is the current sensation in the Telugu states. Both states are having contrasting situations in the respective states with the ticket fares. While the theatre owners and distributors in Telangana are in full josh ahead of the Pongal season, the situation is not that encouraging in Andhra Pradesh.
The movie ticket fares in Telangana are soaring up with the government permitting the theatre owners to do so. As the industry was severely impacted by the Covid pandemic, the government allowed the owners to go for the price hike.
However, the theatre owners in a few theatres are showing stars to the public with high ticket prices. Ticket in multiplex theatres will charge a bomb for the audiences.
On average, the movie ticket rates were increased by Rs 100 and Rs 250 across the theatres. In addition to this, the GST is also applicable on the tickets which makes it even costlier.
Audiences and moviegoers are worried about the ticket fares as the Pongal season is approaching and we will see big films like RRR and Radhe Shyam hitting the theaters. Looking at the hype and the buzz around the two films, the theater owners are expected to hike the price which would be an additional burden for the moviegoers.
