Munugode Election Would Embarrass TRS Even If Kusukuntla Wins?

Who will win the Munugode by-elections is the question many have. The big question will have an answer soon as the election result will be out today. The vote counting is underway and the tough fight is between the ruling TRS and the saffron party Bharatiya Janata Party. In the campaign, both parties gave their best.

While the ruling party saw a lead in a few regions, the BJP is in top positions in a few regions. Political experts say that there would be a tough fight and the margin between the winning and losing candidate would be very less given the intensity of the election.

Ahead of the election result, the TRS party suffered a big shock as the party candidate Kusukuntla Prabhakar Reddy could not get the support of voters in his native place. Reports say that Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy, BJP's candidate received a big majority in Lingavari Gudem, the native village of Kusukuntla Prabhakar Reddy.

The former MLA not getting the majority in his native place is not a small thing and the opposition parties would surely target the ruling party. If the TRS candidate wins the elections also, the opposition parties might say there are few irregularities in the elections and that's why Prabhakar Reddy won the election.

It will be no wonder if the opposition parties ask how Kusukuntla Prabhakar Reddy can win the polls when his village voters cannot believe him and voted for BJP candidate Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy.

The Munugode by-poll might be embarrassing for Kusukuntla Prabhakar Reddy even if he wins the election as he has to digest the fact that he could not win the trust of the voters from his village itself. This speaks volumes about the image he has among the villagers and what would have been the development in the poll-bound region.

Reports say that the Munugode by-poll is the costliest election India ever witnessed. A recent report said that around Rs 300 crores were spent on alcohol in the Assembly constituency. Though TRS, Bharatiya Janata Party, and Congress took the polls seriously the main fight would be between the two parties.A party reportedly gave gold to voters.
