Kalyan Ram has mostly done mass & family entertainers in his career. For the first time, He attempted a feel good love story with a class touch. Jayendra who shot to fame with Siddharth's '180' helmed 'Naa Nuvve'. This Kalyan Ram & Tamanna-starrer hit the screens Today.
Synopsis:
Varun (Kalyan Ram), a PhD Graduate who wishes to settle down in US, is egoistic and doesn't believe in either destiny or luck. On the other hand, Meera (Tamanna) believes in destiny a lot. She falls in love with Varun without even meeting him because of few coincidences. Varun doesn't care when Meera proposes to him finally and stays firm on his stand that destiny is trash. How did this one-sided Love Story end thereafter?
Performances:
Kalyan Ram has undergone a makeover. Both his look and performance appear quite new. He did his best to do justice to the character but the fact is that it didn't suit him at all. The inconvenience he faced while performing romantic scenes is visible on the screen.
Tamanna is the centre of attraction in the movie. A conscious attempt was made to show her as gorgeous as possible. Cameraman elevated her glamorous angle quite well. Even Tamanna's performance is quite good.
All of other characters are just alright. Tanikella Bharani, Posani, Vennela Kishore, Praveen and Bithiri Satti have been under-utilized.

'Naa Nuvve' is technically sound. Music by Sarath is pretty good. Both Songs and Background Score has been impressive. PC Sreeram springs his magic only in the songs. There weren't magical moments in the scenes to challenge him. Production Values have been nice. Director Jayendra failed as a filmmaker completely. Though '180' was a flop, Director's taste and maturity were appreciated. This time, Jayendra failed to show any promise. Even minimum standards weren't maintained by him either as writer or director.
Analysis:
Chemistry of the Lead Pair is of paramount importance for the success of a Love Story. First of all, Casting should be perfect & Actors should be able to generate romance. Audience must be dying to see the Hero & Heroine get united. This is where 'Naa Nuvve' disappointed!
Kalyan Ram might have altered his look & body language but his pairing with Tamanna looked odd. How should audience react when a normal looking guy rejects the love proposal from a beautiful girl like Tamanna? Director didn't even focus on conveying that Heroine might have fallen for Hero's character.
In 'Naa Nuvve', Heroine falls madly in love with Hero without even meeting him due to few silly reasons. A Book of Kalyan Ram reaches Tamanna accidentally and it gets coming back to her even after losing it couple of times. After few unexpected things, Tamanna starts believing Kalyan Ram is her luck and they are destined to fall in love. Even Hero's US Trip gets cancelled because of silly reasons and that's how a PhD Graduate becomes a Cab Driver.
Silly Coincidences to establish that Hero & Heroine are made for each other makes viewers have a hearty laugh. Artificiality in almost every sequence tests the patience. 'Naa Nuvve' becomes unbearable due to lack of chemistry between Tamanna and Kalyan Ram. Even a genius like PC Sreeram couldn't save this movie. While the First Half is just okay, Viewers feel why they are destined to watch it in the Second Half. There is nothing much to say about this so-called Romantic Flick other than Tamanna's glamour & Technical Aspects.
