Stand-up Comedian Manoj Prabhakaran made derogatory comments about Mahesh Babu's expressions and acting skills. He dared to say Tollywood Superstar is the male version of Katrina Kaif.
MAA General Secretary Naresh wrote a letter to Nadigar Sangam seeking stringent action against the Stand-up Comedian for making disrespectful remarks against a Top Star. In reply, Nadigar Sangam General Secretary Vishal advised MAA not to make it an issue. He downplayed the whole controversy by saying, 'Mahesh Babu needn't prove anything to anyone…we all knew what he is as a person and actor! Telugu People love him so much. There is no replacement for him'.
There are people who say Naresh has over-reacted just because Mahesh Babu happens to be his close family member. What action could a film body like Nadigar Sangam take on a Stand-up Comedian? Filing a Police Complaint & Dragging the Comedian to the court could have appeared more sensible.
