Rekha Didn't Find Place In Mahanati

Legendary actress Savitri biopic 'Mahanati' is one of the eagerly awaited films of the season. As the movie is hitting the screens in a couple of days, interesting discussions are going on regarding the characters in the film. The makers have released the first looks of important characters in the film already.

It is known that Gemini Ganesan married two other women before he married Savitri secretly. Now, the question is 'Will 'Mahanati' team show Gemini Ganesan's other wives and their kids?" Bollywood actress Rekha is the daughter of Gemini Ganesan's first wife. Will Rekha be present in the 'Mahanati'? Director Nag Aswhin has given clarity on Rekha character. He said that there is no Rekha character in the movie.

On the other hand, Nag Aswhin went on to say that he made 'Mahanati' as wanted the young generation audience to know about his favourite actress and take inspiration from her. He said that he never thought of making it a sugar coated movie by not showing Savitri's downfall. Nag Ashwin revealed the reason why he made a biopic like 'Mahanati'. He said he may not make such films in future if he gets into commercial movie format trap.
