Nag Ashwin Committed Blunder In Mahanati
By: Tupaki Desk | 11 May 2018 5:17 PM GMTThe Biopic of late legendary actress Savitri is made as Mahanati. It is indeed a great attempt to portray how Savitri's personal life has been a roller-coaster ride and how she had to face situations. There is a huge positivity around this epic biography movie.
Director Nag Ashwin had made this movie in a well-scripted way which is very appealing to the audience. The rise and fall of a star heroine who set the standards of acting for coming generations is shown in Mahanati. Despite the fact that the movie is not just a story but an experience, there is a blunder that has crawled in.
In the movie, after Savitri faces a series of failures and damages in personal life, she is shown acting in a small role in the movie Gorintaku. It is shown that the movie team ignores her existence during the break time and SV Ranga Rao (played by Mohan Babu in Mahanati) invites her to eat along with him. He even express his dissatisfaction on the way people treat others when in difficulties.
The scene is also taken on an emotional note with a dialogue-"Annam Pette Vadi Vungarallanu Kuda Kotteyalani Chuse Samajam Idi".
This is a blunder because Gorintaku was made in the year 1979 but SV Ranga Rao had died by that time. Nag Ashwin who was quizzed regarding the same told that he had no time to introduce another role for that scene. But, Savitri had to face the same situation during Gorintaku movie and the person in SV Ranga Rao 's place was Gummadi. It seems like Nag Ashwin has taken his creative liberty to cover up the emotion rather than factual presentation in this particular movie.
