Naga Chaitanya & Samantha in a Remake

Bollywood flick '2 States' based on a popular novel by Chetan Bhagat became a sensational hit. Naga Chaitanya and Samantha were likely to play the roles done by Arjun Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in the original.
Abhishek Pictures purchased the remake rights of '2 States' for Rs 55 lakhs. For the first time ever Bollywood Producer Karan Johar has sold the remake rights of his film to a Producer from a Regional Language. Venkat Kuchem, a protege of VV Vinayak, will helm the project.
'2 States' is about Two Cultures. In the remake, Naga Chaitanya will play a Telugu youth and Samantha would be seen as a Malayali. Something similar to how they were presented in 'Yem Maya Chesave'.
Prakash Raj, Rao Ramesh, Ramya Krishna and Revathi will be playing the roles of parents to the lead pair.
