Did HE turned down Premam remake?

Chandoo Mondeti made his directorial debut with 'Karthikeya'. Soon after the release of this super hit flick, He received a call from Akkineni Compound. Initially, People assumed a Director of Chandoo's calibre will come up with yet an original story. To everyone's surprise, Chaitu and Chandoo decided to work on the 'Premam' remake.

In a recent interview, Naga Chaitanya revealed: 'Actually, Chandoo thought of doing a original script. But, We got to see 'Premam' while we are travelling together. Initially, Chandoo was a bit hesitant as the film was a bit hit in another language. He, however, got convinced later. We never tried to rectify the mistakes or do better than the original. We just wanted to retain the soul'.

Chaitu told he fell in love soon after watching Malayalam version of 'Premam' and got connected to the role of hero so well. Aspects like variations in teenage, college days and after attaining maturity attracted him so much.
