Akkineni Heroes Takes Daring Decision

Though using the titles of old classics for the new movies bring so much hype, it would be a risk for the filmmakers. Because they have to check whether the title is really apt for the content or not. Else, if the movie fails to impress the audience then they will first target the title of the movie.
Yesterday, the makers of Akhil 3 titled 'Mr Majnu' and unveiled the first look of the film. Akkineni Akhil is playing the role of a playboy in this film and the visuals are also revealing the same. They kept the title as 'Mr. Majnu'. In reality, the tale of Laila and Majnu is a tragic story of undying love. Under the direction of Dasari Narayana Rao, Nagarjuna acted in 'Majnu' movie in 1987. His stupendous performance in the movie will be remembered forever. It is a very serious character and Nagarjuna nailed it. So, using that name for jovial characters might receive some negative comments. On the other hand, Nagarjuna is also doing the same and is coming up with 'Devadas' which is the classic movie starring Akkineni Nageswara Rao.
Though Nani used the same 'Majnu' title before, it won't make much impact as he is not related to the Akkineni family. But despite being the heirs the Akkineni family, using the titles of their family member's classic movies is surprising the audience. Varun Tej pulled off the same feat with 'Tholi Prema' but got saved as the movie became a hit. Let's see what happens with 'Mr. Majnu' and 'Devadas'.
