Classic Manam Couldn't Beat Powerful Legend!

Andhra Pradesh Government has announced Nandi Awards yesterday for the years 2014, 2015 & 2016. Among all the three years, 2014 awards became a big topic of discussion in the social media. Netizens are expressing their shock for not selecting 'Manam' for the Best Film category. They are raising objections for announcing 'Legend' as the best film which has more violence and announcing Manam as the second best film which is a family entertainer.
'Manam' is regarded as a rare film and a classic in Telugu. Not just for the content.. it has emotionally touched the hearts of the audience. Moreover, it is the last film of legendary actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao. Majority of the netizens are saying that 'Manam' has all the qualities to be selected as the best feature film. Keeping aside a classic like 'Manam' and choosing commercial 'Legend' as the best feature film made the netizens upset. They are criticising the awards became a joke with this kind of selection.
It is known that Balayya was very close to Akkineni family earlier but he is keeping away from them for the past few years. Even though Nagarjuna recently tried to play down their strained relationship as rumours, latest developments are indicating otherwise. Some netizens are commenting that Balakrishna has purposefully done this. Balakrishna is a TDP MLA and his brother-in-law is the CM. So he should have decreased giving importance to his own film to avoid criticism. But his film 'Legend' received seven awards and they tried to decrease importance for a classic like 'Manam'.
