Natural Star Nani had to work hard for past three years to finally be called as a Star after giving 7 back to back box office success.
But the actor is unable to deliver a blockbuster like Geetha Govindam, still. No body expected Vijay Devarakonda to emerge like this but Nani being unable to compete has become a huge problem for distributors.
Distributors and exhibitors expect a good amount of increase with every film for a new star at the box office. When they reach a stagnation point, they have to re-invent themselves again.
Chiranjeevi did in 90's, Nagarjuna in 2000's, Venkatesh couldn't do it very successfully but he is becoming increasingly the go to star actor for multi- starrers and Balakrishna revamped his image with Simha and Legend.
Mahesh got Srimanthudu that changed his image and Bharat Ane Nenu proved that he needs to blend commercial things with good story to achieve success at the box office.
Now, Nani even though doesn't have such huge market he seems to have arrived at a stagnation point. Nagarjuna is no longer considered as a huge box office star due disasters like Om Namo Venkatesaya and Officer.
But he has a good base still intact to push the films to next level provided they are as good as Soggade Chinni Nayana, Oopiri and Manam. He did his best for Devadas but being the young star, Nani had little more responsibility in Overseas.
At USA, the movie collected in 4 days;

Well, the movie is still unable to tuch the $1Million mark and that doesn't appear a healthy sign for Nani. Let's wait and see, if Nani can find his Geetha Govindam
