The market of OTT platforms have increased immensely and many big filmmakers and actors are getting into the digital world. One of Indian's most acclaimed filmmaker Mani Ratnam and Jayendra Panchapakesan are producing and presenting a Tamil anthology named 'Navarasa'. The official date announcement of done it is arriving on 6th August on Netflix.

The 156 seconds video has been presented in a very creative manner by showcasing various emotions of actors like Suriya, Prasanth, Vijay Sethupathi, Prakash Raj, Revathi, Rohini, Yogi Babu, Siddharth and many others. Nine critically acclaimed directors like Aravind Swami, Bejoy Nambiar, Gautham Menon, Karthick Naren, Karthik Subbaraj, Priyadarshan, Rathindran Prasad, Sarjun and Vasanth Sai have lent their incredible vision and distinctive perspective.

The haunting background score was composed and arranged by AR Rahman the music video is visualised by Bharat Bala. A lot of top-notch technicians, artists and filmmakers came together for this anthology which is aimed to help the Tamil cinema which is impacted by the pandemic.

Speaking more about 'Navarasa', Mani Ratnam told Hindustan Times, 'Jayendra and me have been together for a long time, raising funds for various causes over the years. In the pandemic, we talked on the phone, and decided we should do something for the film industry because it has been badly affected. There has not been work for a very long time, and most of them are daily wage earners. We needed to do something substantial, and not just a token thing, which would make a real difference. It needed not just us but the entire industry to come together, so we just had to ask all these actors and directors, they were ready for it. That is something we all are proud of.'

Apparently, none of the artists took a single penny for this anthology and the producers only spent on the making and for the regular workers. Jayendra said, 'The idea is we have nine emotions as human beings, we respond to different situations differently. We felt there is a strong concept, there was a variety and it will appeal to everybody. Everyone will find three-four which will appeal to them.' He added, 'We had started with enthusiasm to do something for our own industry. It really charged us. We saw the enthusiasm, as everybody spontaneously agreed for their heart. There were absolutely no hurdles, except for the fact that our hands were tied due to the pandemic. In terms of logistics, we were not able to move around and get things done.' Let us wait and see how this huge project is going to be on 6th August.
