Multiple National Award winner Dhanush who has been on a roll for the past few years with super hits like 'Maari 2', 'Vada Chennai', 'Asuran', 'Karnan' and others is now suffering from back-to-back flops. His 'Jagame Thanthiram' which came out on Netflix was a disaster and his Bollywood outing 'Atrangi Re' got mixed responses too.
Now, he released another Tamil film directly on Disney + Hotstar. The film is titled 'Maaran' and it was made available from 22nd March. Directed by Karthik Naren, sultry siren Malavika Mohanan played the female lead. It was released with good expectations but the film disappointed the audience heavily.
Many people are wondering about how Dhanush accepted such a spineless story that had nothing but a few positive moments. Dhanush played the role of a journalist in this film. He is quite righteous which is the reason why he is forced to move from one channel to another. He finds himself in trouble along with his family and how to come out of it forms the story.
The film is just 130 minutes long but even fans felt that it is a test for the patience of the viewer. With no platform to work on, Dhanush too felt like he was sleepwalking through the role. Many are trolling and criticizing the 'VIP' hero for damaging his image by taking up such lackluster films.
