New GO on Ticket Prices Gives more confusion than Clarity!

A new controversy had erupted concerning the Tollywood film industry with the Andhra Pradesh government announcing its decision to regulate the ticket prices. The GO that deals with ticket prices has created a gap between the industry and the state government. With time passing, the gap only kept on increasing.
The Tollywood film industry which was not happy with the Go no 35 had raised its concerns and a few members have met the government in this regard. With the multiple meetings not yielding any positive outcome, the undisputed king of Tollywood Megastar Chiranjeevi took things into his hand and took a delegation to meet Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
The issue between the industry and the state government saw a major development when a GO to revise the movie ticket prices was issued the other day. The industry and the movie lovers pinned a lot of hopes on the Go and felt that the issues will be sorted out.
Sadly, for the industry, the Andhra Pradesh government had poured water on the hopes. Despite a few relaxations, the terms and conditions imposed to get the extra benefit had raised a few doubts.
One wonders what so many complications are there in the new Government Order. If the government wants to not help the industry, why the Government Order was issued. It doesn’t give any clarity on this but creates more confusion, the movie buffs say.
Looking at the complications in the GO, the big-ticket movies can have a hike in ticket fares on the condition that the budget for the film should be more than 100 crores and this is removing the remunerations of the cast. In addition to this, a portion of the film shoot should be done in Andhra Pradesh.
While extra shows were allowed for films, one of the shows should be allowed for the small budget films. The category deals with films where less than Rs 20 crore was spent for film and this includes the remuneration.
As another condition, the high budget films can increase the movie tickets for 10 days, and for this, not less than 20 percent of the film should be shot in Andhra Pradesh.
