Comment: New Heroines getting importance like heroes
By: Tupaki Desk | 2 Sep 2017 10:03 AM GMTHero plays the vital role in Tollywood movies than heroines. Even the stardom, fan following, craze will be high for Heroes than the heroines. As the commercial movies are in high demand right now, the importance of hero also got hiked. The heroines are just for glamour show and songs. That is one of the reasons why heroines always blame that they are not giving the opportunity to prove their talent. However, things are gradually changing.
Just like the hero, the heroine is also playing an equally important role. New heroines are coming up and mesmerizing the audience with their performances. Tollywood is filling up with new talents and fresh faces.
In the past, there was nothing much to talk about the heroine's role in a commercial movie. But now the actresses are standing as the center of attraction in the films. The audience are experiencing dramatic changes in heroine's roles.
In the movies Baahubali: The Conclusion and Gautami Putra Satakarni, just like the leads, Ramya Krishna and Hema Malini also played the vital roles like the female leads Anushka and Shriya. Ramya Krishna as Shivagami and Hema Malini as Gautami Bala Sri will be forever remembered in the hearts of the audience. In Sathamanam Bhavathi movie, just like the lead actress Anupama, Jaya Sudha also played a vital role.
Coming to the female lead's, Keerthi Suresh in Nenu Local, Ritika Singh in Guru, Sai Pallavi in Fidaa, Nivedha Thomas in Ninnu Kori, Eesha Rebba in Ami Tumi, Rakul Preet in Rarandoi Veduka Chuddam, Kajal in Nene Raju Nene Mantri, Shalini in Arjun Reddy played equally powerful roles. Anushka's role as Krishnamma in Om Namo Venkateshaya is also a major one.
Though all of these heroines entered the industry recently, because of the roles they got in their first movies made them famous. The roles they played in the starting films of their career helped them get roles in big movies. For example, Keerthi Suresh is currently playing the role of Savitri in Mahanati Savitri movie and also starring in Pawan Kalyan's upcoming film. Sai Pallavi got the chance to play the female lead in Natural star Nani in MCA. Nivedha Thomas is pairing up with Tarak in Jai Lava Kusha movie. Arjun Reddy's lady love Shalini is also getting good offers in Tollywood.
We can say that this change is not at all because of the heroines but the directors. Filmmakers like Sekhar Kammula always gives very importance to heroine's role in his movies. Sukumar and Indraganti Mohan Krishna also belong to the same category.
Tamannah entertained the audience with her performance as Maha Lakshmi in 100% love movie. Telugu actress Swathi succeeded in choosing performance-oriented roles and increasing her fame. Even commercial movies like Chandamama, Yem Maaya Chesave, A Aa also gave importance to heroine's characters. Filmmakers like them enhanced the heroine roles in the films.
Even the thought processes of heroines are also changing. They are not asking for performance-oriented roles but showing interest in doing the movies that audience would like.It seems like the new heroines are being wise in choosing the roles and bagging huge hits.
