The makers of RRR had recently announced that the film will not be released in theatres on the 7th of January, much to the disappointment of fans and followers. This decision was taken in view of the spike in Covid cases across the country. "Inspite of our relentless efforts, some situations are beyond our control. As many Indian states are closing theatres, we are left with no choice but to ask you to hold on to your excitement. We promise to bring back the Glory of Indian Cinema and at the right time, WE WILL." the statement from the makers of RRR read as they announced the postponement of the film's release.
Now, we are hearing that the makers of RRR are considering a new release date for the film. As things stand now, the makers of the Rajamouli directorial are seeing 29 April as the optimal new release date for the film. They are taking the summer season release slot into consideration and hence the April release prospect. The final call regarding the release date will be taken only after the regional and international theatrical markets open up. The makers are waiting for the Covid situation in India and USA to ease up before they drop an official update on the release date.
For RRR to hit the silver screens, the north India belt should be in full flow and there should be no restrictions on seating capacity in the USA. Only then can the buyers recover the humongous investments they made on the praoject.
