By: Tupaki Desk | 26 April 2013 5:15 PM GMTThe National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) Friday issued notice to Andhra Pradesh Police on the death of a woman who was pushed in front of a lorry when she tried to save her daughter from hooligans.
"The commission has issued notice to the state director general of police and supreintendent of police, Guntur, returnable in four weeks," said an official of NHRC.
The 45-year-old victim and her daughter were going home after shopping April 8 when a group of drunk men accosted them.
"When one of them tried to grope the girl, the mother pushed him away. The hooligans then turned to the mother and pushed her in front of a speeding lorry. She was rushed to hospital but died on the way," an official said.
