Making films with Star Heroes has become quite risky these days. Why because the budgets have gone up to the range of Rs 70 to 100 crore inspite of poor success rate. Even those films which have been termed as hits weren't fetching huge profits for the Producers. Hence, Majority of the Producers are banking heavily on medium-range heroes like Nani, Sharwanand and Nikhil who have been maintaining good success rate in the past 3-4 Years.
For example, Nikhil's 'Ekkadiki Pothavu Chinnavada' earned 3 Times more than the investment. Though 'Keshava' is just an average, It fetched double the investment for Producer. That's why, A lot of Producers have been in race for doing a movie with this Minimum-Guarantee Hero.
Nikhil decided to remake Tamil flick 'Kanithan' this time. TN Santhosh, director of Tamil version, will work for Telugu remake as well. Actually, Kalaipuli S Thanu who produced the Original thought of bankrolling the remake. However, Few Telugu Producers have been lobbying hard for grabbing this opportunity. A Producer even placed a lucrative deal before Nikhil. He promised to offer Rs 2.25 crore & a luxury volvo car as his pay package if the Young Hero does the movie for his banner. Nikhil is yet to take a call on the choice of Producer & he is in a bit of dilemma at present.
