The trend of selling the theatrical rights of a Hero's New Movie on par with the revenue generated by his career-best flick is hurting the Industry very badly. Why because, Rarely does such a feats can be achieved in a field with hardly 10 percent success rate. Even Nani-starrer 'Ninnu Kori' fits in the same slot.
'Bhale Bhale Magadivoy' & 'Nenu Local' collected a share of Rs 25 crore-plus each. Hence, Producers have been selling the theatrical rights for fancy prices. Pre-Release Business of 'Ninnu Kori' is in the range of Rs 20 to 25 crore. In Nizam & Overseas, Distributors invested Rs 5.5 crore & Rs 3.5 crore respectively on this love story. Producer DVV Danayya earned profit almost double to that of investment on the project with the sale of theatrical, satellite, audio, video and digital rights.
