Beauty with brains bitten by direction bug

Nitya Menon is the one of the few talented heroines we have in the South. Even though she used to pick good characters and subjects till sometime back.. the situation has changed and she appears to have lost her midas touch in choosing subjects. Her last film 'Okka Ammayi Tappa' was a dud at the box office. She has not signed any other film since then. Why ?

It is known that there were reports sometime back that she has been approached for Savitri biopic 'Mahanati.. but somehow she didn't become part of 'Mahanati' cast. Other than this, latest buzz from the film circles reveals that she has been on a rejecting spree whenever she has been aproached by film makers. The reason is that she wanted to wield megaphone and direct a Telugu-Malayalam bilingual.

She said to have already penned two scripts.. and she reportedly got a green signal from a producer for one of her script. Not only that... the pre-production work has been already stated. Nitya is going to officially announce her project very soon as per the buzz. Yesteryear heroines like Vijaya Nirmala excelled in direction..even Renu Desai tried her hand at direction recently.. now it's time for Nitya.
