Where Is The Big Hit Of 2019?
By: Tupaki Desk | 14 Oct 2019 7:27 AM GMTPost the release of magnum opus 'Sye Raa', Telugu box-office is having a pretty dry run. 'Sye Raa' reached its second week and the collections are coming down steadily and there is no big release till December. Even a festival like Diwali is ignored by our film makers and Tamil films like 'Bigil' and 'Khaidi' are utilizing it.
In 2017, it was 'Baahubali 2' which swept everyone off their feet. Last year, 'Rangasthalam' was that smash hit which brought a lot of profits to its buyers. Even films like 'Mahanati' and 'Geetha Govindham' ended up in large profits. But, 2019 is still waiting for its one big blockbuster.
There were many big releases this year. But none could make good profits. Prabhas's 'Saaho' ended up in losses, Charan's 'Vinaya Vidheya Rama' failed badly and Balakrsihna's 'NTR' biopic was a disaster. Though Mahesh babu's 'Maharshi' and Chiranjeevi's 'Sye Raa' were declared as hits, they too had to face losses in some areas.
Except for Venkatesh-Varun Tej's 'F2' and Ram's 'Ismaart Shankar', no other big film made good profits. We have time till 31st December and let us see if any other film becomes a blockbuster or 'F2' becomes the winner of top spot in terms of profits.
