No Chance For 'Acharya' On Feb 4th?
By: Tupaki Desk | 7 Jan 2022 12:18 PM GMTKoaratala Siva's 'Bharat Ane Nenu' was released in April 2018 and Megastar's 'Sye Raa' came out in October 2019. There is one year gap between both the films and everyone hoped that Megastar and Koratala's 'Acharya' will be releasing in 2020. But it was when Covid struck the world for the first time. Everything was shut down, theatres were closed, shootings were stalled and people were forced to stay in their homes. The whole 2020 went in vain but things looked like returning back to normal by the end of the year. The shooting of 'Acharya' rebegun and people expected the film to hit the screens in the second half of 2021 but it did not happen. After a lot of gap, the makers decided to announce February 4th, 2022 as the release date as films like 'RRR', 'Radhe Shyam' and others were expected to occupy the Sankranti season.
Just when things looked like going as planned, the third wave seems to be arriving strong and fast. The Sankranti films got postponed and many governments decided to close the theatres or reduce their occupancy rate. It is very tough for the film to hit the screens on February 4th as a lot of people in Tollywood are testing positive for the virus. The post-production works are yet to be completed for 'Acharya'.
Also, 'Acharya' was supposed to release after Charan's 'RRR' hits the screens. So, all the chances of 'Acharya' releasing on February 4th are gradually getting evaporated. There is a prediction from experts that the Covid cases will massively increase from February and there will be a heavy rush once again in summer. Looks like 'Acharya' is in a bit of a pickle now.
As we know, Charan will be getting a pan-Indian market after the release of 'RRR' and the team of 'Acharya' is reportedly planning to capitalize on it. As the 'Magadheera' hero is playing a crucial role, the film has a lot of scope to perform well in the North market too. Kajal Agarwal is the heroine for Chiranjeevi in 'Acharya' while Pooja Hegde will be seen romancing Charan. Mani Sharma is the music composer for this social drama and the lead actor will be seen as a Naxalite in this film. There are a lot of expectations on this movie and it is to be seen if Koratala maintains his 100% success record with 'Acharya' or not.
