No clash between Gangubai Kathiawadi and RRR at box office

Bollywood powerhouse of talent Alia Bhatt and ace filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali have joined forces for a crime thriller Gangubai Kathiawadi, making it one of the much-awaited films coming from the B-town. Gangubai Kathiawadi has been carrying high expectations ever since the project was announced.
Once again the film was postponed as the release date was pushed ahead by the makers. In a fresh development, the makers announced that the crime thriller will hit the theatres on February 18, next year. Leading production house Pen Studios which is bankrolling the project has announced the same.
By pushing the release date, the makers have avoided a clash with magnum opus RRR directed by SS Rajamouli which also stars Alia Bhatt as one of the female leads. Pen Studious is the distributor of RRR in the northern region.
Taking to Twitter, the makers of Gangubai Kathiawadi issued a statement saying that the release date of the film was changed and the new date is locked on 18th February.
"We are glad to announce that Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Gangubai Kathiawadi has a new release date. Produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Dr Jayantilal Gada (Pen Studios). The film will release on February 18, 2022 (sic)," the statement reads.
Gangubai Kathiawadi was supposed to hit the theatres on Jan 6 2022 as per the schedule, which makes the clash with RRR unavoidable with the magnum opus coming a day late. RRR had locked Jan 7th as the release date. To see that both films won't face any issues, Gangubai Kathiawadi had postponed the release date.
What we hear from the media circles is that the Sanjay Leela Bhansali starrer postponed the release date with Rajamouli requesting the director and production house for the same to avoid the box office clash.
Adding fuel to this, Rajamouli had thanked the makers of Gangubai Kathiawadi after the announcement and said he appreciates their decisions. Having said that, the Bahubali director extended his best wishes for Gangubai Kathiawadi. "The decision by Mr. @JayantilalGada and Mr. #SanjayLeelaBhansali to move the release date is well appreciated. Our heartfelt wishes to #GangubaiKathiawadi..," Rajamouli's tweet reads.
