No effect of IPL & Polls: Nagarjuna
By: Tupaki Desk | 3 March 2014 3:51 PM GMTAkkineni Nagarjuna is of the opinion that the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) and General Elections will hardly have any impact on the Summer releases.
Nag officially announced the relase date of Akkineni multi-starrer as March 31st, that's on the eve of auspicious Ugadi festival. Within few days after the release, Both IPL and Polls 2014 will kickstart. The handsome hero, however, feels everything has got its own space and neither the late-night matches nor the political atmosphere will ruin the Box Office numbers.
Analysts say, IPL could lead to decline in the revenues of new releases by 15-20% as matches will be held from 4 pm onwards, so that First & Second Shows will get affected. Three days of empty theatres at the time of Elections would make a huge difference to the fate of the films.
'Manam' willn't face any hurdle due to elections because it will be releasing few wees before the polling date. However, All eyes will be on how far IPL could eat into its revenue as Nag is already going through a bad patch. Let's not forget, Films with Good Content never fails despite any number of external factors.
