Currently, when a movie has to become a hit, then the commercial elements are very important. Especially, item songs play a key role in making the audience dance with joy in theatres and overflowing the collections. So, the demand for special songs is getting increased.
However, Mahesh Babu has been maintaining some distance with the item songs these days. In Aagadu movie the makers roped in Shruti Hassan for the item song. After that, Mahesh hasn't given the space for item songs in his films. As Srimanthudu is a message-oriented film, they haven't involved an item song in the movie. As Brahmothsavam has the family content the makers haven't focused on the special songs. There is no item song in Spyder movie as well. Mahesh's latest release Bharath Anu Nenu is performing surprisingly well at the box office now. There is no item song in this movie as well.
As it won't be good to make the Chief Minister dance for an item song the makers haven't taken that risk. Whatever the reasons are, the fans haven't seen at least one item song in the past four movies of Mahesh Babu. Though this is a disappointment for the mass fans, they are satisfied based on the success of Bharath Ane Nenu.
