Rajamouli Reject 9 Out Of 10 Stories

Rajamouli is one of the top billed filmmakers in Indian cinema. He is probably the only director to maintain a 100% success rate despite making films on a larger-than-life canvas. But Interestingly enough, Rajamouli never prepares any story on his own. He always sources his stories from his father, Vijayendra Prasad, one of the most successful screenwriters in the Indian film industry. Rajamouli takes his father's storylines and gives them his own spin. The whole character arc development and screenplay are conceived and composed by Rajamouli himself. He is the one who adds the larger-than-life stature to these stories.

However, it doesn't seem to be an easy task for Vijayendra Prasad to convenience his son Rajamouli with his stories. As revealed by Vijayendra Prasad himself, Rajamouli rejects around 9 out of the 10 stories that he narrates. He states that it is not very easy to impress Rajamouli with a story.

"9 out of the 10 stories that I narrate to Rajamouli are rejected by him. He only picks the stories that he believes have the potential to make for a compelling visual experience on the big screens. The stories should align with his vision. Only then will he lock the story and start working on it. That could be the reason why he is one of the most successful directors. He knows his strengths very well and never drifts away from them right from the scripting stage," Vijayendra Prasad said.

The senior writer says Rajamouli is very particular about the stories and never settles for anything but the very best. "I should give him the complete credit for all the success he is enjoying. Providing stories is one thing and visualizing them with cinematic brilliance is a completely different proposition."

RRR, a big-budget periodic action thriller featuring Jr NTR and Ram Charan is the immediate next outing from the father-son duo, Rajamouli, and Vijayendra Prasad. The film is set in the pre-independence era and it brings to life the fictional journey of two legendary freedom fighters, Alluri Seetharama Raju and Komaram Bheem. The film is gearing up for release on 13th October this yearÂ
